Tirumala- The newly constituted Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) Board convened its inaugural meeting at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, focusing on a series of initiatives to promote Sanatana Dharma, the ancient way of life. During the meeting, TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy strongly denounced criticism of Sanatana Dharma by Tamil Nadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin, emphasizing that it is not merely a religion but a holistic way of existence.
In a significant move, the TTD has decided to embark on the construction of two state-of-the-art pilgrim amenities centres (PAC) valued at Rs 600 crore in Tirupati town. These new centres, named Achyutham and Sripatham, are designed to accommodate nearly 20,000 pilgrims each, effectively replacing the aging facilities located behind the Tirupati railway station, as announced by an official spokesperson.
A special incentive has been introduced to encourage spiritual devotion among the youth. Those aged 25 or younger who complete the writing of ‘Govinda Namam’ one crore times, akin to ‘Rama Namam,’ will be granted VIP Break Darshan privileges for themselves and their families, as resolved during the board meeting.
Furthermore, the Srivari Temple Trust has extended a unique one-time darshan opportunity to young individuals who write ‘Govinda Namavali’ 10,01,116 times.
In a bid to enhance spirituality among students, a 20-page edition of the Bhagavad Gita will be distributed to children studying from LKG to class 10 within the state.
These endeavors underscore the TTD Board’s commitment to preserving and propagating the tenets of Sanatana Dharma, not only as a religious practice but as a holistic way of life deeply ingrained in India’s cultural fabric.
