Tata Motors has revealed the near-production version of the highly anticipated Harrier EV at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi. The electric SUV, set to launch in 2024, promises an impressive range of 500 km on a full charge, surpassing the long-range variant of the Nexon EV.
A recent image on the website provides a glimpse into the potential range of the Harrier EV, displaying the instrument console indicating an 80% charge with a visible range of 400 km. Speculations suggest a potential 100 km increase in range with the remaining 20% charge, making the Harrier EV Tata’s long-distance SUV on a single charge.
This year’s showcase offered insights into the Harrier EV’s features, including triangular headlamp surrounds, a new grille tailored for EV, redesigned alloy wheels, fresh LED taillights, and front and rear LED light bars. The instrument console is expected to incorporate a temperature gauge, mobile connectivity, music controls, notifications, and home and search icons.
Internally, the Harrier EV is anticipated to feature a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a fully digital color instrument cluster, an electric parking brake with auto-hold, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, drive mode selection, and a new gear dial.
While specific details about the battery pack remain undisclosed, customers eagerly await Tata Motors to disclose the full specifications. In the broader context, as global EV giant Tesla gears up to establish its first factory in India, Tata Motors, holding the top spot as the leading electric car manufacturer in India with its Nexon EV, is gearing up for an intensified competition.
