BITS Pilani and Airlinq have forged an alliance to spearhead innovation in the realms of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) in India, marking a significant stride toward propelling the nation into the forefront of cutting-edge technology.

This collaborative venture, as articulated in the official statement, is an integral component of the recently inaugurated ‘5G Use Case Labs’ at the Indian Mobile Congress 2023, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and endorsed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

Airlinq, a distinguished US-based global technology firm specializing in telecommunications and IoT solutions, aims to drive innovation to the forefront and catapult India into the future of 5G technology. According to the media release, the collaboration will focus on designing and implementing use cases in areas such as urban traffic safety, harnessing low-latency V2V and V2X communications to elevate the experience for drivers, pedestrians, emergency responders, and other stakeholders on roadways.

Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani, expressed the institution’s commitment to cutting-edge innovation and academic-industry partnerships. He stated, “Our mission at BITS is to empower our students and faculty to shape the future, and this collaboration allows us to do just that. Together, we aim to not only advance our understanding of these transformative technologies but also to provide invaluable real-world experiences for our students. This partnership exemplifies our dedication to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and fostering the next generation of tech leaders.”

Ankit Taparia, VP at Airlinq and an alumnus of BITS Pilani, conveyed excitement about the collaboration with BITS Pilani, renowned for its research and innovation. Taparia affirmed, “We are committed to unlocking the boundless potential of disruptive and new age technology. We are excited about our partnership with BITS Pilani, an institute known for its research and innovation, and look forward to pioneering advanced 5G technology solutions that will revolutionize industries and redefine the way our increasingly interconnected world collaborates and communicates to improve lives.”
