New Delhi, As the thrilling India vs. South Africa ODI series stands at 1-1, anticipation builds for the decisive third match at Boland Park in Paarl. Following a resounding start for India and a comeback by the hosts, the series hangs in the balance.

The second ODI saw South Africa dominating, chasing down India’s 211 with ease, driven by Tony de Zorzi’s maiden century and contributions from Reeze Hendricks. Now, as the final ODI approaches, speculation arises about India’s playing XI.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, currently struggling for form, is expected to open alongside the consistent Sai Sudharsan. The middle and top order feature promising talent Tilak Varma at No. 3, followed by captain KL Rahul at No. 4, who exhibited good form in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, looking to make an impact after a modest performance in the previous match, takes the No. 5 spot. Rinku Singh, with a knack for late-order heroics, follows at No. 6. All-rounder Axar Patel and spinner Kuldeep Yadav complete the batting lineup at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.

With a potential change in the pace-bowling department looming, Akash Deep, Gaikwad’s Bengal teammate, could debut in place of Mukesh Kumar. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan lead the pace attack, gearing up for the crucial final showdown.

Predicted India XI for Third ODI:

– Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudharsan

– Middle and Top Order: Tilak Varma, KL Rahul (c)

– Wicketkeeper: Sanju Samson (wk)

– Power-hitter: Rinku Singh

– All-rounder: Axar Patel

– Spinner: Kuldeep Yadav

– Pacers: Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep (or Mukesh Kumar)

As the cricketing world awaits the outcome, India faces the challenge of balancing experience and potential in a bid to clinch the ODI series against South Africa.
