Patna: The Election Commission of India has already commenced preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In order to assess the preparedness, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar is currently on a state-wise tour. The Election Commission has devised a plan for tours to all states before the Lok Sabha elections. The commission’s team will review election-related preparations in each state by visiting them. In this sequence, the entire team of the Election Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, is set to arrive in Bihar.
The team will stay in Bihar for three days to assess election preparations. According to information received, the Election Commission’s team is scheduled to arrive in Bihar on February 19 for a review of the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. Under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, the team will evaluate the preparations for three days in Bihar. The team includes Election Commissioners Anupchand Pandey and Arun Goyal, along with other senior officials of the commission. The Election Commission’s team will hold meetings with the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and district officials in Bihar.
The Election Commission has sent the itinerary of its team’s tour to Patna. The Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar has been assigned for the three-day tour. During the tour from February 20 to 21, the team will review preparations with representatives of recognized political parties, officials, and district election officers along with district police officials. On the first day, the team will meet representatives of political parties, followed by meetings with Bihar’s DGP and all district officials on the second day.
