A group of women hailing from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district have undertaken a unique gesture to convey their deep admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They purchased a Honda Shine motorcycle using their personal savings and intend to present it to the Prime Minister as a symbol of their appreciation. However, their heartfelt gift now faces the logistical challenge of reaching the Prime Minister’s possession.
These three women, engaged in small-scale businesses in Muzaffarpur to support their families, were profoundly impressed by Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and his recent initiatives. Their admiration particularly stems from his various endeavors aimed at the nation’s development and the welfare of women, most notably the passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill, granting 33 percent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies.
Nibha Pathak, one of the women involved, expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s relentless efforts. She commended his role in ensuring security, managing the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and championing women’s rights through the Women’s Reservation Bill. When asked why they chose to offer a motorcycle as a gift, Nibha emphasized that the sentiment behind the gesture held greater significance than its monetary value.
Although aware that the Prime Minister usually travels in high-end vehicles, these women opted to offer a small motorcycle, simply hoping for his acknowledgment.
Neera Jha, another member of the group, highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to women’s welfare, particularly those from marginalized communities. She lauded his achievements, including the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill and the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Neha Kumari underscored the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to their community, which inspired their decision to express support through this heartfelt gesture. However, they now face the challenge of delivering their “priceless” gift to the Prime Minister. Despite sending a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), they have not received a response.
As a last resort, the women have reached out to former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and former BJP minister Suresh Kumar Sharma to assist in transporting the motorcycle as a gift to the Prime Minister. Sharma has offered to help by arranging transportation for the motorcycle via train. He commended the women for their deep admiration of the Prime Minister’s initiatives, which have brought them joy and inspired their support.
