In a brief yet impactful statement, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi expressed her thoughts on the Women’s Reservation Bill, stating, “Apna hai…”. This comment followed a recent announcement by Minister of State Prahlad Singh Patel on social media regarding the Cabinet’s approval of the Women’s Reservation Bill.

While details of the cabinet meeting remain undisclosed, speculations abound that the bill has indeed secured approval. Government sources had hinted at its approval and its expected presentation in a special session of Parliament.

Prominent figures, such as Kapil Sibal and KC Venugopal, have shared their perspectives on the matter. Kapil Sibal questioned the timing of its introduction by stating, “Wonder why Modi ji, if introduced, waited for almost 10 years when almost all political parties are in support? 2024 is perhaps the reason.” KC Venugopal highlighted the importance of this legislation, emphasizing that it can’t exclude half of the population from decision-making processes.

Despite the reported decision by the Union Cabinet, there has been no official communication from the government, leaving many eager to learn more about the contents of the bill.

As this significant development unfolds, the nation awaits further updates on the Women’s Reservation Bill.
