The allocation of Bihar’s 40 Lok Sabha seats within the NDA coalition has been finalized. BJP will field candidates on 17 seats, maintaining its position from the previous elections. Meanwhile, JDU has been allocated 16 seats. Chirag Paswan’s LJP has been granted five seats, including secured seats in Hajipur, Jamui, and Samastipur. Candidate announcements are yet to be made. This election sees a greater inclusion of parties within the NDA compared to 2019, prompting some seat exchanges to accommodate all parties.

Seat Exchanges within NDA:

In the seat exchange, JDU had to relinquish its current safe seats of Karakat and Gaya. In return, it received the seats of Sitamarhi and Sheohar.

Changes in BJP’s favor include gaining the Navada Lok Sabha seat, previously held by LJP. Additionally, BJP’s candidate from Sheohar in the last election has now been allocated to JDU.

Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party received one seat, previously held by JDU. Former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP was granted the Karakat seat, previously held by JDU. It is speculated that Jitan Ram Manjhi will contest from Gaya, and Upendra Kushwaha from Karakat.

Press Conference in Delhi:

A press conference held on Monday at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi announced these developments. Present were Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, BJP’s state president and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, LJP’s Ramvilas Paswan Jr., and BJP’s national social media head Sanjay Mayukh.

“We Will Win All Forty Seats in NDA”: Vinod Tawde

Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde stated that NDA will emerge victorious on all forty seats. He emphasized NDA’s unity in contesting the elections. JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha also expressed confidence in winning all seats in the alliance. BJP’s  Sushil Modi echoed similar sentiments.

Seat Allocation:

Seats allocated to BJP include West Champaran, East Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Araria, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Ujiarpur, Begusarai, Nawada, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, and Sasaram.

JDU was allotted Valmikinagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Sheohar.

LJP (Ramvilas) received Vaishali, secured Hajipur, secured Samastipur, Khagaria, and Jamui.

HAM (Jitan Ram Manjhi) secured Gaya, and RLSP (Upendra Kushwaha) received Karakat.

The above information outlines the latest developments and seat allocations within the NDA coalition in Bihar for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
