BJP to contest on 17 seats, JD(U) on 16, LJP (Ram Vilas) on 5 in Bihar Lok Sabha elections

The allocation of Lok Sabha seats within the Bihar NDA has been finalized, with the parties now aware of their respective shares. Vinod Tawde, the BJP’s Bihar in-charge, disclosed this information during a press conference held at the BJP office in Delhi.

Following the announcement of the 2024 Lok Sabha election dates, all parties have devised their strategies for victory. The negotiations regarding seat-sharing within the NDA have concluded. The parties included in the NDA have agreed upon a formula for seat-sharing. The final round of discussions regarding seat allocation took place in Delhi on Monday, after which the formula for seat-sharing was announced.

Which party received how many seats in the NDA?

Vinod Tawde, the Bihar BJP in-charge, revealed that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will contest on 17 seats, the JD(U) on 16 seats, and Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) on 5 seats. Upendra Kushwaha’s party, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party, the Hindustani Awam Morcha, will each contest on one seat. Pashupati Paras’ National Lok Janashakti Party did not receive any seats.

The BJP will contest elections on these 17 seats:

West Champaran, East Champaran, Aurangabad, Araria, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Ujiarpur, Begusarai, Nawada, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, and Sasaram.

JD(U) will field candidates on these 16 seats:

Valmikinagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Siwan.

Chirag Paswan party will contest on these 5 seats:

Hajipur, Jamui, Vaishali, Samastipur, and Khagaria.

Additionally, Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP has been allocated the seat of Karakat, and Gaya has been allotted to Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM.
