The annual Film Bazaar, held alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, concluded with a grand closing ceremony attended by esteemed filmmakers Shoojit Sircar, DK & Raj, and other notable guests. Organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), the event witnessed a record participation of over 1250 delegates, including filmmakers, actors, buyers, and film enthusiasts.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming participation, Neerja Shankar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, emphasized the importance of open-mindedness to global cinema. She highlighted the success of the Creative Minds Of Tomorrow program, initiated by Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, which saw the participation of 225 creative minds.
Prithul Kumar, Joint Secretary, Films, MD-NFDC, commended the collaborative spirit of filmmaking facilitated by the bazaar, with 36 countries represented and 498 meetings in the co-production lab. The viewing room featured 68 delegates watching over 25 hours of content.
Filmmakers Raj and DK shared their experiences, recalling their early days and expressing appreciation for the fresh ideas and energy they find at Film Bazaar each year. The Knowledge Series, featuring 19 sessions including masterclasses, added value for future filmmakers.
As Film Bazaar 2023 concluded, it left behind a legacy of cinematic excellence, collaboration, and insightful discussions, promising to resonate in the global film industry for years to come.
