First phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 begins tomorrow, 16.63 crore voters to cast ballots on 102 seats

Lok Sabha Election 2024: The first phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for April 19. In this phase, voting will take place on a total of 102 seats. A staggering 16.63 crore voters will participate in exercising their democratic rights. A total of 1.86 lakh polling booths have been set up for the elections. The Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in seven phases, with the first phase covering 102 seats across 21 states and union territories. The Election Commission has completed all preparations for the elections scheduled on April 19. Voting arrangements for senior citizens have been made since April 5, allowing them to cast their votes via postal ballots from their homes.

Voting on 102 Seats in the First Phase
Voting in the first phase will take place across 21 states. Tamil Nadu will witness voting on all 39 seats on April 19, along with several other states. Bihar will have polling on four seats – Aurangabad, Gaya, Jamui, and Nawada. Uttar Pradesh will see voting on eight seats, including Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarpur, Bijnor, Nagina, Muradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit.

Focus on These Seats
With a total of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha, the first phase will cover voting on 102 seats, drawing attention to specific constituencies such as Pilibhit, Saharanpur, and Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, Chennai North and South in Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore, and Bikaner in Rajasthan, and Koch Bihar in West Bengal.

Fate of These Leaders at Stake
The first phase will decide the fate of several leaders, including Chirag Paswan from Jamui in Bihar, Nakul Nath from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, K. Kamaraj from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Tamilisai Soundararajan from Chennai South, Jitin Prasada from Pilibhit, and Nisith Pramanik from Koch Bihar. The electoral fate of Central Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Bhupender Yadav from Rajasthan will also be sealed in EVMs. The Lok Sabha elections 2024 will conclude in seven phases. The first phase of voting is on April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26, the third phase on May 7, the fourth phase on May 13, the fifth phase on May 20, the sixth phase on May 25, and the final phase on June 1. The election results will be announced on June 4.
