In preparation for the upcoming floor test in the state assembly on February 12, political parties in Bihar are rallying their legislators. Janata Dal United (JDU) hosted a banquet for its members on Saturday, while Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) called a meeting at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence on Sunday.

In a show of strength, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators gathered in Bodh Gaya for a training program, paralleling the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s meeting at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence. Meanwhile, Congress legislators, who are currently in Hyderabad, are set to fly to Patna on a chartered plane.

The Mahagathbandhan coalition held discussions at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence, emphasizing unity against the ruling government. Security has been heightened at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence, where legislators will stay until the day of the floor test.

Mobile phones of all legislators have been reportedly switched off during this period. All parties have urged their legislators to remain present in the assembly on February 12 for the crucial floor test.

As the political drama unfolds, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to present the confidence motion on Monday. With 128 legislators in favor of the NDA alliance, the government aims to secure a majority in the 243-member assembly.

Bodh Gaya witnessed BJP legislators participating in a training program at the Mahabodhi Resort. The training, focused on preparing for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has caused a temporary halt in Gaya.

The stage is set for a high-stakes floor test, where the fate of the government will be determined based on the support of over 122 legislators. The political atmosphere remains tense as parties make strategic moves in the lead-up to the crucial vote.
