Manjiri Chitre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced a two-day visit to Gujarat, focusing on inaugurating multiple projects across Dwarka and Rajkot districts. The day began with PM Modi offering prayers at Beyt Dwarka temple, followed by a visit to the iconic Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, famously known as ‘Sudarshan Setu.’ This 2.5-kilometer cable-stayed bridge, a dream project for Modi, boasts a unique design featuring verses from the Bhagavad Gita and solar panels generating one megawatt of electricity.

Later in the day, PM Modi is set to dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects exceeding ₹4150 crore in Dwarka, followed by a visit to AIIMS Rajkot. In Rajkot, he will inaugurate projects surpassing ₹48,100 crore, including the Rajkot-Surendranagar railway line doubling, a new cardiology hospital in Vadodara, and power generation projects in Kutch.

One of the highlights is the inauguration of Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), accompanied by four other AIIMS virtually established in Punjab’s Bathinda, Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli, West Bengal’s Kalyani, and Andhra Pradesh’s Mangalagiri. PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for over 200 healthcare infrastructure projects worth ₹11,500 crore across 23 states and union territories.

As part of the event, 115 projects under the National Health Mission and Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) will be inaugurated. Additionally, 21 projects of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), worth around ₹2,280 crore, will be dedicated to the nation.

This visit underscores a significant boost to Gujarat’s growth trajectory, with a focus on healthcare, infrastructure, and connectivity.
