In a major crackdown, the police in Hajipur intercepted a truck carrying a significant quantity of liquor concealed behind stacks of chips and snacks. Acting on information received from the Patna Crime Investigation Department (CID), the Industrial Area police seized 946 cartons of foreign liquor hidden behind bags of chips and peanuts in the truck.

The operation unfolded late on Monday night when officers, led by the Station House Officer Sanjeev Kumar and CID officials, approached the truck near Nayapur. The driver and cleaner of the vehicle were apprehended on the spot. The police estimate the value of the confiscated liquor to be approximately one crore rupees in the local market.

Both the driver, identified as Baldev Singh from Rajasthan, and the cleaner, Gurmit Singh, were taken into custody during the raid. The police are now actively working to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in this illicit trade.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the truck was en route to Jandaha in Bihar. The police promptly seized the truck, and further investigations are underway to unravel the network of individuals engaged in this unlawful activity.

The successful operation was a joint effort between the local police and CID Patna, highlighting the commitment of law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities. The confiscated 8,367.06 liters of foreign liquor will be presented as evidence in legal proceedings against those involved in this smuggling operation.
