In a grand press conference held today, Delhi’s cabinet ministers, Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Delhi for their invaluable support in making the recently concluded G20 Summit a resounding success. Moreover, they delivered an unwavering commitment to ensuring the perpetual enhancement of the national capital’s aesthetics.
Urban Development minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, articulated, “We extend our warm congratulations to the two crore residents of Delhi for their exceptional cooperation in contributing to the triumph of the G20 Summit. It was through their diligent tax contributions that we could embark on the remarkable journey of beautifying Delhi.”
He continued, “For three days, the citizens of Delhi voluntarily confined themselves to their residences, and on some occasions, had to contend with traffic disruptions. In the spirit of unity, the Public Works Department (PWD), Urban Development (UD), and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) are committed to sustaining the beauty of our beloved city in the days to come.”
PWD minister, Atishi, further assured the public, stating, “We pledge to the citizens of Delhi that this transformative beautification endeavor will persist. The meticulous execution of mechanical road sweeping and road washing witnessed during the G20 Summit will now be diligently continued by the MCD. Should the need arise, the Delhi government stands ready to provide additional support, including the acquisition of supplementary equipment to uphold the cleanliness of Delhi.”
She added, “Without delay, I convened a comprehensive review meeting earlier today. Starting tomorrow, I will personally inspect the areas earmarked for beautification work.”
Atishi emphasized that there are approximately 1,400 kilometers of roads under the jurisdiction of PWD, and these will undergo beautification enhancements, including the introduction of decorative horticultural elements.
Responding to queries regarding the recent absence of dengue case data publication, Bharadwaj assured, “We have already issued directives to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to promptly disclose dengue case statistics in the national capital. Furthermore, we have urged the health department and the chief secretary to spearhead a comprehensive dengue awareness campaign.”
As the Delhi government remains committed to both the aesthetic and health well-being of its citizens, the future promises a city that continues to thrive in beauty and resilience.
