In a public address during his visit to Meerut for the 18th Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi remarked that Meerut’s soil is the land of revolution and brave warriors. He invoked the blessings of Baba Augharh Dham upon this land and acknowledged the contributions of great sons like Chaudhary Charan Singh. He expressed gratitude for the honor of conferring Bharat Ratna upon them by our government. He mentioned that our government is preparing for its third term. PM Modi, while addressing the people of Meerut, reminded them that when India was the 11th largest economy in the world, poverty rates were soaring. As India became the 5th largest economy, over 250 million people successfully emerged from poverty. He assured that when India becomes the third-largest economy, not only will poverty be eradicated, but a new empowered middle class will boost India’s development.
Addressing the gathering in Meerut, PM Modi stated that the mandate of 2024 will make India the world’s third-largest economic power. Sharing the stage with the leaders of various component parties of the NDA, including the heads of Central Potato Research Institute, National Lokdal, Apna Dal (S), Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (NISHAD), and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), PM Modi launched the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in the state and greeted everyone.
PM Modi reminisced about his special connection with Meerut, stating that he had initiated his election campaigns from Meerut in 2014 and 2019. Now, the first rally of the 2024 elections is also taking place in Meerut. He emphasized that the 2024 elections are not about who becomes a Member of Parliament or not; it is about building a developed India.
