Australian cricket veteran David Warner, cherished in India for his IPL performances and affinity for Indian cinema, responded to a user on social media who mentioned he had “broken a billion hearts” with Australia’s World Cup win. Warner replied, “I apologize, it was such a great game and the atmosphere was incredible. India really put on a serious event. Thank you all.”

Warner concluded the 2023 World Cup with an impressive 535 runs in 11 matches, securing the sixth spot in the list of most run-scorers. Australia’s dominant performance on the field, backed by exceptional fielding and bowlers’ sharp work, contributed to their success in the tournament.

Despite Warner’s rest for the upcoming T20I series against India, his impact during the World Cup, both as a batsman and fielder, has left a lasting impression.
